1. Dedicate yourself to the system and DO NOT QUIT.
One of the most apparent differences between the successful few (5%) from the unsuccessful many (95%) is one of the simplest (but hardest) things to do. The common trait I’ve found among ALL successful affiliate marketers, and the characteristic I think is most responsible for their success, is that they dedicate themselves to their system and they don’t quit.
You may be thinking, “What are these successful few affiliate marketers doing that I’m not? I’m smart enough. I’m seem capable. So, what am I doing wrong and that they’re doing right?” The answer is simple. They’re simply doing. They’re executing. They created a plan and they’re pulling the trigger. And not just once. THAT’S the key – they’re pulling the trigger over and over and over again, day after day.
I’ve heard a few people say, “I just need to get off my butt and get started.” They’re missing the point. It’s not getting started that’s the key, it’s sticking with it. Often, the difference that separates those that are successful from those that are not, is that the successful simply didn’t quit when many others would have. Charles Spurgeon once said,” by perseverance the snail reached the ark.” Walter Elliot added,”Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” And Julie Andrews reminded us that “perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th.”
2. Believe you deserve to make a lot of money.
It’s been my experience that most people don’t believe they’re inherently worthy. Deep down, they believe they either don’t deserve or don’t have the ability to be successful. I’ve been there myself, believe me. What’s the cure? Stop it. Putting yourself down is almost always based on emotion … and emotion, when it concerns your self?image is almost never reliable. Stop listening and stop believing it. You CAN make a lot of money and you WILL make a lot of money. That’s the deal, so tell yourself this as often as you need, to start believing it.
3. Focus.
The web, I think it could be argued, is one big distraction. I will speak for myself when I say that because there is SO much entertainment and information available, I often have trouble focusing on one task at a time. While I love affiliate marketing, the internet and the endless distractions it provides may potentially be the worst environment for my attention-deficit problem.
One day I finally realized that this lack of focus was a major handicap to my earning power. Enough distractions can cripple anyone’s earning potential. Once I started focusing on staying focused, the quality and amount of my output and affiliate paychecks increased dramatically.
